8-14 May 2024 – Visit in Senegal and identification of regional partners to set up a training course in pharmaceutical regulation

EHESP-International is supporting the REG-PHARMA project (led by Expertise France), which aims to improve access to quality healthcare products by harmonising pharmaceutical regulation in French-speaking African countries.

EHESP-I is working on identifying one or more regional academic partners to set up a regional training programme on pharmaceutical regulation.

After 2 assignments to Côte d’Ivoire and Benin at the end of 2023, Dr. Jean-Philippe Naboulet, EHESP Lecturer, Head of the Pharmaceutical Inspection programme, and Samuel Hilyer, EHESP-I Project Manager, travelled to Senegal to meet with academics from UCAD and the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulation Agency. The aim of these visits was (1) to identify existing training provision and (2) to identify the training needs of the national pharmaceutical regulatory agencies.

A report with a number of recommendations for setting up a regional training programme in pharmaceutical regulation will be presented to the project’s Steering Committee in autumn 2024.
